In these Terms & Conditions, “Client”, “Customer”, “you” and “your” refer to any individual, company, organisation or entity purchasing or using services from GetUK. “Services” means any service supplied by us, including managed hosting, business hosting, WooCommerce hosting, website design, website maintenance, IT support, cyber security, cloud services, server administration, digital services, consulting, and domain-related services. “Infrastructure” refers to the servers, cloud platforms, storage, networks, software environments and related systems used by us to supply services. “Agreement” means the contract formed when services are ordered, purchased, activated, renewed or otherwise supplied by GetUK.
By accessing our website, submitting an enquiry, ordering a service, paying an invoice, or continuing to use our services, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions. These terms apply together with any service-specific agreement, quotation, proposal or written confirmation issued by GetUK. Where there is any conflict between these terms and a signed service-specific agreement, the signed agreement shall take precedence only to the extent of that conflict.
GetUK provides professional technology services designed to support businesses, organisations and website owners. Our services may include managed hosting, premium hosting, shared hosting, cloud infrastructure, website design, website rebuilds, website optimisation, on-page SEO setup, server management, IT support, cyber security services, business communications support, digital consulting, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting. The exact features, limits and deliverables of each service depend on the package or proposal agreed with the client.
All content published on this website, including text, designs, branding, graphics, layouts, source code, logos and downloadable content, is owned by GetUK or its licensors unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, scrape, distribute, modify or commercially exploit any part of this website without our prior written consent. You agree not to use the website for unlawful purposes, to interfere with its normal operation, or to attempt unauthorised access to any part of our systems, accounts or infrastructure.
GetUK provides managed hosting services designed for reliability, security and performance. Hosting services may include server maintenance, patching, uptime monitoring, malware response, platform-level troubleshooting, software updates, security hardening, basic performance optimisation and technical support. Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, hosting is supplied on a best-effort basis. We aim to provide stable and secure service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, continuous uptime or fault-free operation.
Hosting performance and service continuity may be affected by matters outside our control, including datacentre failures, upstream provider incidents, hardware faults, internet outages, software defects, third-party vulnerabilities, abusive traffic, cyber attacks, DNS failures, power outages, supplier failures and force majeure events. You acknowledge that internet and infrastructure services inherently carry operational risk.
We may carry out routine maintenance, emergency maintenance, server patching, migrations, upgrades, platform changes or security work where reasonably necessary for service continuity, protection or improvement. Such maintenance may occasionally result in temporary disruption, reduced performance or limited access. We will provide notice where practical, but reserve the right to undertake urgent work without prior warning where necessary to protect infrastructure, customer environments or wider service stability.
From time to time, GetUK may offer a free website design or website rebuild promotion with selected managed hosting packages. This promotion is available only on eligible packages and remains subject to availability, reasonable project scope and our approval. The free website design offer is tied to the associated hosting service and is not a standalone free development service.
Any client receiving free website design under this promotion must maintain the related hosting service for a minimum contract term of 12 months. If the hosting service is cancelled, terminated, transferred away, downgraded below eligibility level, or otherwise ended before completion of the 12-month minimum term, GetUK reserves the right to charge the client either the standard design fee for the work delivered or the remaining contract value for the outstanding minimum term, whichever is lower.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the free website design offer usually includes a professionally designed brochure-style website, basic page structure, installation on our hosting platform, standard content population using client-supplied content, and basic on-page SEO setup. It does not automatically include advanced ecommerce functionality, complex integrations, custom software development, premium plugin licences, specialist copywriting, branding packages, extensive stock sourcing, unlimited revisions, third-party subscriptions or bespoke development outside the agreed scope.
For any website build, website migration, design work, optimisation work or related project-based service, the client must provide timely feedback, approvals, access credentials and all required materials including text, images, branding assets and relevant technical details. Delays caused by missing information, delayed approvals, changes in specification, or third-party dependencies may extend delivery timeframes. Unless otherwise agreed, reasonable revisions are limited to the original project scope and significant changes may be chargeable.
Where the client operates an ecommerce platform including WooCommerce or any other shopping system, the client remains responsible for the operation of that store, including product data, stock data, order flow, tax settings, legal compliance, customer communications, payment gateway setup, shipping configuration, checkout testing, privacy notices and customer data handling. GetUK provides hosting and technical support within the agreed service scope, but does not assume responsibility for the commercial, legal or operational management of the client’s online store unless specifically agreed in writing.
The client agrees to provide accurate account and billing information, maintain the confidentiality of account credentials, keep software licences valid, comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and use our services in a lawful and responsible manner. The client is responsible for all content stored, transmitted or published using our services and for all activity occurring under their account, whether authorised by them or not, unless directly caused by proven negligence on the part of GetUK.
Unless expressly included within an agreed managed service scope, clients remain responsible for the software, applications, plugins, themes, custom code, third-party integrations and content installed or operated within their hosting environment. This includes WordPress installations, WooCommerce extensions, custom themes, bespoke scripts, page builders, payment integrations and any other software introduced by the client or on the client’s instructions.
GetUK does not warrant the compatibility, stability, performance or security of third-party software. We shall not be liable for issues caused by plugin conflicts, theme incompatibilities, failed updates, outdated software, unsupported software, custom code errors, corrupted databases, broken functionality, API changes, software vulnerabilities or poor development practices within third-party or client-managed applications. Where such software causes instability, security risk or service degradation, we reserve the right to disable, isolate, restrict or request removal of the affected software or service components.
To ensure reliable performance across our platform, all hosting services are subject to fair and reasonable usage. Clients must not use disproportionate CPU, memory, disk I/O, database resources, bandwidth, concurrent processes or other infrastructure capacity in a way that negatively affects platform stability or other customers.
Excessive usage may arise from poorly optimised websites, unpatched plugins, abusive bot traffic, high query volumes, background tasks, bulk imports, cron overload, malware, large file storage unrelated to site operation, streaming, abusive email activity, heavy ecommerce processing or sudden traffic levels beyond the intended package scope. Where resource consumption becomes excessive, GetUK may apply temporary restrictions, throttle processes, request optimisation, require an upgrade to a more suitable service, suspend specific functions, or suspend the service where necessary to protect wider infrastructure.
All invoices must be paid by the due date stated on the invoice or service agreement. Recurring services may be billed monthly, annually or on another agreed billing cycle. The client is responsible for ensuring that valid payment arrangements remain in place for all recurring services. Failure to pay an invoice on time may result in late payment action, service suspension, removal of support cover, withdrawal of active monitoring or full termination of service.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, overdue invoices may result in service suspension after the stated due date and may be terminated if they remain unpaid for more than 30 days. Reconnection, restoration or reinstatement of services after suspension may be chargeable.
Services may renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled in accordance with the applicable contract terms. Where a service, package or promotion is sold with a minimum term, including any package involving free website design, the client remains liable for the minimum contract period. Cancellation before expiry of a stated minimum term does not remove liability for charges due under that term.
Refunds are considered only in limited circumstances and entirely at our discretion unless otherwise required by law. Refunds may be considered where a service cannot be delivered at all, where a paid service has not commenced, or where there is a demonstrable technical failure that cannot be resolved within a reasonable time. Refund requests must be made in writing and include full order details and the reason for the request.
Domain registrations, domain renewals, third-party licences, completed design work, delivered project work, setup fees, migration work, bespoke consulting, and services already consumed are generally non-refundable. Any refund approved will normally be returned to the original payment method.
Where GetUK registers, manages, renews or transfers domain names on behalf of a client, the client remains responsible for ensuring the accuracy of registrant details, contact records and renewal instructions. Domain names are also subject to the applicable registry or registrar rules, including Nominet policies for .uk domains where relevant. Domain registration and renewal fees are non-refundable once submitted. We are not liable for loss arising from expired domains, failed transfer authorisations, inaccurate registrant information or third-party registrar issues where the client has failed to respond to renewal or verification requirements.
Clients must not use our services for unlawful, abusive, malicious, deceptive or harmful activity. Prohibited use includes but is not limited to phishing, spam, malware distribution, botnet operation, copyright infringement, hosting unlawful material, abusive automated traffic, unauthorised scanning, hacking attempts, impersonation, fraud, cryptocurrency mining without express approval, and any activity likely to cause harm to our systems, our suppliers, our reputation or other users of our services.
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, isolate or terminate services without notice where we reasonably believe that continued operation presents a security, abuse, legal or infrastructure risk.
GetUK actively monitors infrastructure for signs of abuse, malicious activity, compromise, policy breaches and excessive resource consumption. Abuse may include spam activity, phishing, malware hosting, brute-force attempts, malicious scripts, unauthorised bulk email, botnet behaviour, DDoS participation, exploitation of vulnerabilities, repeated abusive login attempts or any activity that threatens infrastructure or third parties.
Where suspected abuse is identified, GetUK may take immediate action without prior notice. This may include service restriction, IP blocking, traffic filtering, process termination, account suspension, site isolation, removal of infected files, disabling of mail functions, or full termination of service. We may also cooperate with upstream providers, software vendors, registries, registrars, law enforcement and regulatory bodies where necessary. Clients are expected to respond promptly to abuse notifications and to cooperate fully with any investigation or remediation request.
Where GetUK reasonably believes that a website, application, account, server, mailbox or service is compromised, vulnerable, under active attack, being used for abusive purposes, or otherwise poses a risk to infrastructure or third parties, we reserve the right to take emergency protective action immediately and without notice. Such action may include account suspension, password resets, access restriction, service isolation, traffic blocking, mail disabling, software disabling, forced updates, temporary offline status or removal of harmful files. We shall not be liable for loss resulting from emergency protective action reasonably taken to protect systems, users or third-party infrastructure.
GetUK may operate backup systems, snapshots, retention systems or disaster recovery measures as part of some services. However, unless expressly stated in a written service agreement, backups are provided as a convenience only and are not guaranteed. Backups may fail, may be incomplete, may become corrupted, may not capture all changes, may not be available for all services, and may not be restorable in every scenario.
Clients remain fully responsible for keeping their own independent and current backups of all important data, websites, databases, files, email content and configurations. GetUK shall not be liable for loss of data, incomplete restorations, corrupted backup archives, failed backup jobs, delayed restorations, or any business loss arising from reliance on a backup system supplied by us or by any third party.
The client acknowledges that digital systems can fail and that no hosting provider, developer, platform or software vendor can guarantee against data loss. By using our services, the client accepts that GetUK shall not be responsible for loss, corruption, deletion, overwriting, compromise or unavailability of data except where directly caused by our wilful misconduct. This includes but is not limited to loss caused by software failure, user error, malware, failed updates, provider incidents, database corruption, mail corruption, hardware fault, cyber attack or third-party service failure.
Hosting and cloud services depend on multiple third-party systems, networks, software layers and supplier relationships. While GetUK aims to maintain robust and secure environments, we do not accept liability for interruption, degradation, delay or loss arising from datacentre outages, hardware failures, upstream network issues, routing incidents, DNS issues, software defects, platform vendor outages, infrastructure maintenance, power failures, attacks on shared services, supplier insolvency, force majeure or similar events outside our reasonable control.
You acknowledge that hosting services are not a substitute for business continuity planning and that it remains your responsibility to maintain appropriate contingency arrangements for critical operations.
Unless a separate signed Service Level Agreement expressly states otherwise, all services are supplied without contractual uptime guarantees, service credits or fixed-response obligations. Any uptime percentages, performance targets, promotional claims or estimated support times published on our website or marketing materials are goals only and do not form a binding SLA unless specifically incorporated into a written agreement signed by both parties.
Any SLA or service commitment shall exclude downtime, disruption or service degradation caused by planned maintenance, emergency maintenance, abuse mitigation, DDoS response, client-side configuration error, third-party software failure, domain or DNS issues outside our control, registrar issues, supplier outages, force majeure, credential compromise, plugin failure, code defects, traffic floods, or actions reasonably taken to protect infrastructure.
Where GetUK assists with migrating websites, email, databases, domains, applications or other services, such migration work is carried out on a reasonable endeavours basis unless otherwise agreed. Migrations may be affected by unsupported software, incomplete source access, hidden configuration issues, external provider limitations, DNS propagation delays, mailbox format issues, corrupted files, source server instability or inaccurate information supplied by the client or third parties.
GetUK shall not be liable for downtime, data discrepancy, formatting issues, broken functionality, delayed propagation, missing content or incomplete transfer where such outcomes arise from source system issues, incomplete access, unsupported configurations, software incompatibilities or other factors outside our reasonable control. Clients remain responsible for validating functionality after migration and maintaining full pre-migration backups.
GetUK implements reasonable and proportionate technical and organisational measures designed to protect systems and customer data. However, no internet-connected environment can be guaranteed fully secure. To the fullest extent permitted by law, GetUK shall not be liable for unauthorised access, credential compromise, plugin vulnerabilities, third-party software breaches, zero-day exploits, phishing incidents, malware infection, compromised client devices, intercepted communications, ransomware or security breaches caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
In the event of a suspected breach affecting systems under our control, we will take reasonable steps to investigate, contain and mitigate the issue in line with our legal obligations. Clients remain responsible for securing their own devices, passwords, local environments, user accounts and application-level security where not expressly included within an agreed managed service scope.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GetUK shall not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, punitive or consequential loss, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of opportunity, loss of revenue, loss of expected savings, loss of data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility of such loss.
Our total aggregate liability in connection with any claim arising out of or relating to the services or these terms shall not exceed the total amount paid by the client to GetUK for the affected service during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
The client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless GetUK, its staff, contractors and suppliers against all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs and expenses arising from or related to the client’s content, software, unlawful activity, breach of these terms, infringement of intellectual property rights, misuse of services, abuse complaints, data protection failures within the client’s own systems, or any act or omission by the client or its users.
Clients retain ownership of their own text, images, trademarks and other pre-existing content supplied to GetUK. GetUK retains ownership of its own methods, technical processes, templates, frameworks, scripts, proprietary systems, internal tools, designs and development approaches unless expressly assigned in writing. Unless otherwise agreed and subject to all fees being paid, the client receives the right to use the final delivered website or service output for its intended purpose.
GetUK processes personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We may collect contact information, account information, billing data, technical logs, support communications and service usage information for the purpose of delivering services, administering accounts, processing payments, preventing fraud, responding to support requests and improving security. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
We may share information with trusted suppliers and service providers where necessary to deliver services, process payments, operate platforms, investigate abuse, comply with legal obligations or protect our legitimate interests. Clients may request access to personal data held about them, request correction of inaccurate information, or request deletion where legally permissible by contacting support@getuk.support.
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to improve functionality, analyse traffic, maintain sessions and enhance user experience. By continuing to use our website, you consent to such use except where browser settings or applicable consent mechanisms prevent it. You may control cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may affect website functionality.
We may suspend, restrict or terminate any service immediately where invoices remain unpaid, abuse is detected, unlawful activity is suspected, there is a breach of these terms, or we reasonably believe continued service presents a legal, technical, security or reputational risk. Where practical, we will provide notice, but no prior notice is required where urgent action is reasonably necessary.
Termination of service does not remove the client’s obligation to pay any outstanding fees, accrued charges, minimum term commitments or recovery costs. We may delete data from suspended or terminated services after a reasonable period unless retention is required by law or by operational necessity.
We reserve the right to change our services, packages, infrastructure providers, prices, promotional offers and these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any updated version will be published on our website and will take effect from the new effective date shown unless otherwise stated. Continued use of our services after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These Terms & Conditions and any dispute or claim arising from them or in connection with them shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction unless otherwise required by applicable law.
